Biography
Alexander Grant, Solicitor is an experienced government relations and policy professional with more than 12 years of experience advocating for tribal governments and organizations in Washington, D.C. He has held key positions in the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, and the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI), where he worked on legislative and policy matters affecting Native American communities nationwide.
Transitioning to the private sector, Mr. Grant now represents tribal governments and organizations across the United States, assisting them in navigating the legislative and regulatory processes of Capitol Hill and federal agencies. His work focuses on helping tribes advance policy initiatives, secure federal funding, and protect tribal sovereignty and cultural resources.
During his time on Capitol Hill, Mr. Grant served on the House Committee on Natural Resources and the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, where he focused on key issues related to federal Indian policy. His areas of expertise include tribal land and water settlements, treaty fishing rights, federal funding initiatives, climate policy, federal recognition matters, and sacred site protection.
Mr. Grant is a proud member of the United Houma Nation of Louisiana, and he remains committed to supporting tribal governments and strengthening government-to-government relationships with federal institutions.
